Growing up in Orange, opportunities for Joe to play netball were limited, so his sporting journey began in basketball, where he achieved a high level of recognition within the local sporting community. His move to Sydney for study opened the door to netball, joining a university mixed team and earning selection for his first UniSport National Championships.
Joe’s basketball background translated seamlessly to netball, bringing a strong competitive edge and versatility that quickly became evident. As his passion for the sport grew, his development through local competitions accelerated, prompting him to trial for the NSW State team and earn selection into the NSW representative pathway.
Joe's strengths are highlighted by his agility, endurance and tactical awareness and in recent years, he has firmly established himself on the national stage, setting new benchmarks in his own performances and delivering consistently at the elite level. His ability to contribute across multiple midcourt positions makes him a valuable asset within the team line-up at international tournaments.
A proud hometown hero, Joe remains closely connected to Orange, inspiring athletes from regional NSW to dream big and believe in pathways to the elite level.
