Jack's star has risen at a rapid pace, propelling him onto the international stage in impressive fashion. Transitioning from basketball to netball just a few years ago, he has steadily developed into a trusted competitor at the elite level of the men’s game.
Jack first emerged onto the national radar through the Under-23 pathway, earning him recognition for his consistent performances and left-handed distribution. A valuable asset in midcourt rotations.
Jack’s energy, anticipation and defensive pressure at wing defence and centre have been highlighted by coaches and commentators as key contributions to the team’s dynamic style of play. Learning from one of the leading defenders in the world in Dylan Nexhip, Jack athleticism, work rate and composure through the midcourt and defensive transitions earned him a starting position in the recent UK Aurora Series.
Off the court, Vandervelde is committed to continual improvement and supporting the growth of men’s netball, serving as a role model for younger athletes following the sport’s expanding pathways in Australia.
