SpaceQuake Sports to stream 2020 Australian Championships

The Australian Mens and Mixed Netball Association (AMMNA) are pleased to announce SpaceQuake Sports as the live streaming provider for the 2020 Australian Championships in Adelaide.

SpaceQuake Sports are a South Australian-based company with extensive netball broadcast experience, in particular Netball South Australia’s Premier League.

The 2020 Australian Championships Live Stream Director Michael Hutchinson is looking forward to leading the broadcast of the last four days of AMMNA’s flagship event, which will include all Grand Finals on Saturday April 18.

“SpaceQuake Sports are a great fit for our live stream for many reasons – being a South Australian company is perfect given the state will host the 2020 Australian Championships, but they’re also experienced in streaming elite netball and their production is of an incredibly high standard.”

“I’m looking forward to working with the SpaceQuake team to ensure that the broadcast of next year’s Australian Championships is the best we’ve seen yet.”

The 2017 Australian Championships on the Gold Coast was the first time the event was live streamed, which garnered over 135,000 views across the last four days of competition. Viewership grew to 170,000 last year in Sydney, with a further increase for this year’s stream from Casey Stadium in Melbourne.

“We’ve seen year-on-year growth across the last three Australian Championships. Viewership for the Melbourne stream this year was around 190,000, so it’s quite a significant increase in a short amount of time.”

“People tune in from around Australia and right across the world to watch. We know netball has a global appeal and it’s great that the athletes are starting to get the recognition they deserve.”

“We’ll look to tweak things slightly from what has been done in the past to ensure we’re continuing to improve and strengthen the broadcast.”

Further broadcast details and the commentary team for the 2020 Australian Championships will be announced in over the coming months.
