Netball Central the venue for 2018 Australian Championships

The Australian Mens and Mixed Netball Association and Mens Netball New South Wales are pleased to confirm Genea Netball Centre (formally Netball Central) as the venue for the 2018 Australian Championships.

The state-of-the-art centre was officially opened in February 2015 and played host to the 2015 Australian Championships – one of the first events at the venue.

Genea Netball Centre is the home of Netball NSW, is a training base for the NSW Swifts and Giants and showcased pool and placing matches for the 2015 Netball World Cup.

Within the centre are six international-standard courts, including an 800-seat Show Court and 350-seat secondary court, physio and recover rooms and team change rooms.

A record number of teams and players participated at this years’ Championships on the Gold Coast, with early predictions for similar numbers next year.

The 2018 Championships will be the 34th staging of the tournament, after the inaugural event was held in 1985 in Geelong. The 2018 Australian Championships will take place from April 1-7.
