Bumper 2018 international calendar for AMMNA

The 2018 Australian Mens & Mixed Netball Association (AMMNA) international calendar will see eight representative sides compete in three competitions.

Two teams, Reserve Mens and Reserve Mixed, will tour Papua New Guinea in late August next year to play matches against the PNG national mens and mixed sides. It will be the first time any Australian mens or mixed netball team has toured the country.

AMMNA’s International Director, Adam Boldiston, said the tour will comprise of both teams playing a three-test series against PNG.

“It’s exciting to be sending our Australian Mens Reserves and Mixed Reserves teams to Papua New Guinea for the first time in our history and promises to be an entertaining affair.

This tour is a great development opportunity for players to gain valuable international experience against our pacific neighbours, as they continue to push their case to move into the Open mens and mixed ranks.”

Two further Australian teams, 17 & Under Boys and Mens Masters (over 35), will take part in the 2018 New Zealand Mens Championships which will be held in September.

The Trans Tasman Cup against New Zealand will see four divisions go head-to-head – 20 & Under, 23 & Under Mens, Open Mixed and Open Mens. This event is the only series on home soil next year, from October 23-27 at Priceline Arena in Adelaide.

All teams will be selected from those participating at the 2018 Australian Championships which will be held in Sydney from April 1-7.
